Veterinarians
Dr. Mark Dew
DVM, Diplomate ABVP, Canine & Feline Practice
Dr. Dew is one of only 16 veterinarians in the State of Florida certified by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Canine and Feline Practice, a testament to his expertise and commitment to veterinary excellence.
Dr. Mark Dew is a highly experienced veterinarian with 36 years of dedicated practice. A graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Dew has specialized in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery, bringing a wealth of knowledge and skill to his patients.
Dr. Dew views each illness as a puzzle, finding both challenge and reward in piecing together the clues to achieve the best possible outcomes for his patients. His approach to veterinary medicine is marked by a deep commitment to understanding and solving the unique health challenges that each animal presents.
When he’s not caring for animals, Dr. Dew enjoys spending time on the water, boating, and engaging in restoration projects involving cars and boats. He is also a former collegiate swimmer and has a passion for racing dirt bikes, having won the South Florida Motocross Championship in 1994.
At home, Dr. Dew is a devoted pet parent to one dog, Cooper, and five cats, Girlfriend, Dexter, Roy, Sailor, and Bruno. He also provides shelter for his daughter’s cat, Coco.
Dr. Heather Edwards
DVM
Ever since Dr. Edwards was a child, she has always had an innate sense that she would one day become a veterinarian. She graduated undergrad from the University of Florida with a major in animal science, then went on to attend St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine on the beautiful island of Grenada, graduating in 2012.
Since 2013, Dr. Edwards has been a practicing small animal veterinary associate at Animal HealthCare Center. She has a strong interest in dermatology, internal medicine, and preventative care. Over the past 11+ years, she has enjoyed developing caring relationships with her patients and their families while striving to provide them with great health care.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and two dogs (Maggie May, a Maltese, and Sophie, a Lhasa Apso), watching movies, going to the beach and out on the boat, and searching for treasures at thrift stores. Being a West Palm Beach, Florida native, she has become adventurous in exploring the beautiful nature that surrounds us here and, most recently, she’s started to love kayaking in the gorgeous springs of North Florida.

Kelly Dew
Hi! I’m Kelly, and I’ve been with the company for 26 amazing years. Though I haven’t always been a hospital manager, I’m thrilled to be in this role now, leading a wonderful team and supporting them in every way possible. Outside of work, I’m all about family time—I’ve got two awesome kids, a dog, and five cats who keep me on my toes! I love to travel and explore new places, and when I’m closer to home, there’s nothing better than riding my bike or spending a relaxing day out on the boat. Here’s to more adventures, both at work and beyond!

Hi, I’m Sam! I’ve been part of the team here for 11.5 years—I actually started back in high school! Outside of work, I’ve got my hands full with a crazy three-year-old Golden Retriever, Jax, and a cat who keeps us all in line. I love heading to Daytona to visit family whenever I get the chance, and when I’m not there, you can usually find me at the gym!

Hi, I’m Alexys! I’m currently working on my master’s in Social Media Management at the University of Florida. I’m a proud cat mom to Coco and a huge Florida Panthers fan! I love connecting with our community here at Animal HealthCare Center and making sure everyone feels like part of the family.

Hi, I’m Amber! I’ve been part of the Animal HealthCare Center family since 2011, and I absolutely love what I do. I grew up in Ohio, but now I call Florida home. When I’m not at work, I stay busy with my two kids, one cat, and three dogs—and when I have a moment to myself, you’ll probably find me with a good book. I’m passionate about caring for animals and feel lucky to work in such a rewarding and supportive environment every day!

Hi, I’m Ali, one of the receptionists at Animal HealthCare Center. I’ve always had a love for animals, so getting to work with them and their families every day is something I really enjoy. When I’m not at work, I’m into health and beauty, whether it’s staying active or just finding ways to feel good inside and out. I also enjoy painting—it’s a great way to unwind and get creative. I have been a vet tech for close to 29 years with a passion for animals and their care. I started out at a very young age, at 17, with a dream and goal to help animals. So my journey has been amazing and still is to make sure the animals trust me, being a friend as well as a kind soul, and it has always shown. I have three beautiful fur babies as well as 2 cats named Pika and Nubs and a beautiful Yorkie/Morkie mix named Abigail. I have been with Animal Health Care for a 8.5 years and enjoy every day and every ounce of my babies that I take care of daily with love and joy. I have two beautiful sons, who I treasure the most in my free time.

Starting from a young age, I have always been an animal lover. I was that kid with all the pets, and I still am! I always knew I wanted to work with animals and be able to care for them. If I’m not at work, you’ll find me hanging out with family and friends and, of course, being home with my animals, which include 3 dogs named Bentley, Sadie, and Oakley, my kitty Junipurr, a tortoise named Hank, and a bearded dragon named Potato. My hobbies include camping in the beautiful Florida springs, going out on the boat, and fishing. P.S. I might be a little bit biased when the dachshunds come in!

When I’m not focused on my studies, I love riding horses and spending time outdoors. I also have a soft spot for dogs—Dobermans and Chihuahuas are my favorites! I’m excited to combine my love for animals with my career and make a real difference in their lives.

Hi, my name is Alicia Waters. I’ve been an animal lover my entire life, and they are truly my passion. I have 2 horses, “Gypsy & Zaida ” a puppy dog, “Bullet” 2 kitty cats, “Spook & Lucy & a bunny “Honey Bunny ” which, when I’m not working, I’m riding & playing with them all. I have a 17 yr old daughter who’s following in my footsteps as a professional barrel racer. I 100% live by The Golden Rule ” do unto others as you’d have done unto you” All for The Glory of God!!!

Hi, I’m Hayden! I work in the Kennel at Animal HealthCare Center, where I get to spend my
days taking care of the animals and making sure they’re comfortable and happy. My love for
animals started a few years ago with my grandmother’s dog, and it’s been growing ever since.
When I’m not at work, I’m usually diving into computer science, building PCs, laptops, and other
tech—I can even tell how old a piece of technology is just by looking at it! I also enjoy playing
basketball, video games and spending time with my cat. Working here lets me combine my
passion for animals with my dedication to giving them the best care possible.
